We’re not sure. When we are able to open for applications again we will advertise it first on our Instagram, so follow us there for updates.
We depend on grants, donations, out-of-pocket funding, DIY gumption, and volunteer work to fund the rising costs of operating this residency program to lessen the financial burden on our resident artists to attend as much as possible. We are currently in the process of applying for current grant cycles for the next round of Animal-in-Residence, but as of 2025 the current state of public arts funding in the US overall is some of the most dismal it has ever been. If you have the means to donate and would like to help us continue offering this program to as many furry artists as possible, please reach out to us at animal.in.residence@gmail.com.
How much does it cost to apply?
Although most residencies typically charge an application fee, thanks to the 2024 RACC Arts3c grant we were able to provide applications to the previous Animal-in-Residence cycle free of charge. Depending on the state of future funding, we may charge a small fee to offset the time and labor it takes to review applications, rank an select candidates, and deliver responses to applicants.
How do I check the status of my application?

Can I ask for feedback on my application?
Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to give individual feedback on applications we receive.
